She spent her life fighting for her truth and for equal respect and treatment of all people.After her father died in 2014 after being put in a chokehold by a New York City police officer, Erica Garner became a prominent figure calling for an end to police brutality, and her father's last words “I can’t breathe” became a rallying cry for the Black Lives Matter movement.I created this illustration to honor of Erica’s life, her work, and her passion for social justice.
